I was born in Webster, Texas, in 1984 and grew up in League City, Texas. I look back fondly at early childhood art lessons with my brother, drawing characters from books I’d read, coming up with and drawing entire scenes with friends on bus rides home from school, creating movements with fellow artists over plane rides between countries, and drawing inspirations from train rides with my husband, as well as so many more! My mother recognized my interest in the visual arts since I was wee high and encouraged me to work hard and to always keep at it. My dear husband, my crazy family, my amazing friends, and the rigors of life, continue to inspire my artwork.
Following attaining an Associate of Arts degree at San Jacinto College-South in 2011, I attended the University of Houston-Clear Lake for Studio Arts.
During the summer of 2012, I attended the Art and Design Institute at the University of West Bohemia in Plzen, Czech Republic to develop skills in landscape digital photography and serigraphy. Also during 2012, three of my prints were added to the permanent collection at The Gallery of Contemporary Fine Arts in Niš, Serbia, breaking ground for my work into the international art scene. I also collaborated with fellow students from Belgrade, Serbia in a print exchange that was published into a book.
I completed and received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at UHCL in the spring of 2013. Currently, I reside in Melbourne, Australia with my husband, travelling and working as an independent artist. I plan on continuing my education by pursuing a MFA degree in Printmaking either in the United States or in Australia sometime in the future.
